![]() I remember when Disqus stopped showing the dislikes many few years ago. Life may find a way to beat the system only means that the system needs to constantly change to give everybody a fair chance and allow for diversion to keep things interesting. And maybe they will or even are already doing that. I hope YT changes the absolute viewtime to viewtime percentage instead of an absolute number. If your channel has enough viewtime already you can choose to ignore and thankfully many channels do. As ranking is now based on viewtime which can be boosted simply by making longer videos (and hope that the majority keeps watching). Lot’s of videos are being stretched out these days, a 20+ min review video about a silly subject isn’t exceptional any more. The viewcounter only indicates how many times a 20+ minute video is started but doesn’t show the number of people who stopped watching after a few seconds. ![]() Meaning you need them both or you don’t need them at all. That’s why the dislike button was so valuable, as it provided context. A video with zero likes doesn’t have to be a bad video and a video with 10.000 likes doesn’t have to be good either. ![]() When they removed the dislike counter they also should have removed the like button too. So for that reason I say to everyone: install ad blocker for your browser and show giant middle finger to greedy corporations who think of content creators as a way to sell their junk. So instead of disabling dislike counters for some videos they disabled it for all videos. One of the reasons YT turned off dislike counters for everyone was because content from creators that sell, like movie studios and sell-outs, and their own YouTube Rewind trailer tanked harder than Titanic. But advertisers prefer PG-13, politically correct and kid-friendly content. They don’t care for content creators unless those creators are getting lots of views and lots of ads displayed. Fortunately for him finally they left him alone. Finally at one point YT turned it on for him, and then blocked his videos. YouTube nagged him many times to turn monetization on. He didn’t turn on monetization, because he knew his materials will be demonetized anyway or outright blocked for not being PG-13, Disney-friendly and politically correct. One of relatively popular youtubers in Poland had a curious problem with YouTube. Posted in News Tagged Dislike, Linus Tech Tips, youtube Post navigation Impressed by this bit of browser hacking? The extension is open source, and the Chrome web store shows over a million users. is also working on a way to allow individual channels to share their stats with the project, to give more official numbers for their videos. If you install the extension, your video likes and dislikes are tracked, and the combined user data is used to extrapolate an estimated dislike count on any given video. First, it is pulling archived data about videos, taking advantage of the gap in time between the official announcement, and the removal of the dislike API.īut for new videos? Yes, a hacker, one of us, has figured out a workaround. “Life, uh, uh, finds a way,” to quote my favorite fictional mathematician. Their platform, so nothing you can do about it, right? Regardless, YouTube made the change, and people hate it. There may even be validity in the theory that corporate partners don’t like visible dislike numbers on their videos. There might be something to the idea that YouTube doesn’t like the notoriety of their Rewind videos leading the dislike count, with 2018 at nearly 20 million. It could be pointed out that dislikes still impact the recommendation algorithm the same way they always have, and that creators still see their dislike counts on their own dashboard. Citing “dislike attacks”, which are coordinated down-voting of particular videos, YouTube opted to hide the dislike counter on all videos. Very few companies have mastered the art of creating amazing technology and products, and then so effectively abandoning and mishandling them.

The adequate multiplayer offering does give die-hard Call of Duty fans something to be excited about, but even that portion of the game feels slapdash and rushed. The single-player feels like a series of demos strapped together, and the terrible AI only piles on more mediocrity, leading to an absolutely incomplete experience. ![]() The touchpad controls aren’t as intuitive as using a trigger or bumper, but the sniping moments are few and far between, and those controls worked just fine when needed.Ĭall of Duty: Black Ops Declassified fails on almost every level to bring a faithful and competent version of the top-selling franchise to the Vita. The only time the rear touchpad is used is to hold your breath when sniping. Again, it’s another range issue, where you must be in a certain radius for the touchscreen controls to work properly. The only issue that arises is Declassified’s inability to consistently differentiate between trying to throw your own grenade versus throwing an enemy’s grenade back at him, as the prompt shows up in the same spot. Grenade tossing is also mapped to its own icon on the touchscreen. Tapping the touchscreen to activate melee attacks isn’t a bad idea, but too often, the attacks miss the intended target and the range is a bit tricky to figure out. Declassified features some unique control aspects to take advantage of the touchscreen and rear touchpad. The standard controls don’t offer much when it comes to consistency, but the Vita-specific additions are even more perplexing. Declassified doesn’t do a good enough job recognizing the proper moments to utilize the auto-sprint, and can sometimes leave you in a tight spot since you couldn’t run from an explosion fast enough. Movement also feels a bit awkward: Unless you turn it off, the game uses auto-sprint to help you traverse levels with a bit more expediency. This becomes a majorly important part of your tools in dispatching enemies with any kind of urgency. Fortunately, Declassified makes use of snap zoom, which auto-targets nearby enemies when using iron sights. Tweaking the sliders doesn’t seem to make much of a difference, and as a result, the overall controls just don’t feel as tight as they should. Frequent interruptions from the game stating that a wireless network is unavailable will crop up in the single-player portions, causing the game to pause and derailing whatever momentum you had going.īe it single- or multiplayer, aiming is problematic due to the analog sensitivity being sluggish. Oddly enough, the network issues aren’t just limited to the multiplayer. It’s also not uncommon to find bodies frozen in time mid-death throughout a level. Even when a lobby is full of players, there’s a good chance the map will never load, and you’ll be dropped back to the main menu instead of into a match. The multiplayer suffered from some major connection issues and glitches at launch. When the AI is as inept as it is here, you’ll still be able to dispatch foes with ease no matter how many are cluttering up the screen at once.įurther exacerbating Declassified’s online issues are some connectivity problems. Declassified makes the mistake of equating endless waves of enemies with difficulty. Raising the difficulty doesn’t spike the challenge all that much: You’ll lose health more rapidly, and your weapons won’t be as powerful, but the computer AI routines still subscribe to the same poor judgment. Enemies will also run straight at you, even past you at times, with weapons down, seemingly ignorant of your very existence. ![]() ![]() Frequently, you’ll be faced with enemy soldiers that are able to blindly fire at you through the boxes, barrels, or walls they are hiding behind. ![]() The short-lived missions also suffer from truly atrocious enemy AI, which acts as more of an annoyance than a challenge. But there’s little semblance of a cohesive narrative between the missions, let alone between Declassified and the two console titles. The campaign follows returning Black Ops characters Alex Mason and Frank Woods, and is supposed to bridge the gap between the first game and the recently released sequel, Black Ops II. There are no checkpoints in each of its 10 levels, which isn't particularly a problem, considering each mission only takes two to five minutes to complete. Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified’s uninteresting single-player campaign lasts for all of an hour-if that. ![]() So whether it is currently worth investing time in SBCs in the web app can be doubted. A trade with unusable cards from the packs is therefore not possible, a potential coin profit is omitted. Although there are still the same packs as in the predecessor, in FIFA 23 they are not tradeable. Last but not least, EA SPORTS has also decided to tone down the rewards for the SBCs. This makes the puzzle challenges much more difficult. Fielding a defensive midfielder in central midfield to collect chemistry is not possible. This is because under current conditions, only players who are used in their position contribute to the chemistry. Generally, the revised chemistry in the context of SBCs is met with criticism from the player community. Untradeable rewards make puzzle work less attractive A direct contradiction that currently makes the SBC unsolvable, since with exactly two chemistry points per player and eleven players, there are only 22 total chemistry points to be achieved. Two requirements of the “starting eleven” SBC are currently as follows: “Exactly two chemistry points for each player” and “At least 27 total chemistry points”. In the web app, which is now available again, users were eager to get hold of some useful packs through SBCs and stumbled directly over the next problem: the new chemistry system and the SBC requirements. The EA account used was not linked to a FUT club, and players first had to log into FUT on a console or PC in FIFA 23 in order to use the web app, the announcement said regarding the problem, which has since been fixed.īut that is not all. Technical problems and bugs occurred almost weekly in FIFA 22. However, this phrase couldn’t plausibly refer to a tight rope bed, because the first known citation of “sleep tight” was in the late 19 th century, long after rope beds were in common use. So this myth does hold up to a certain extent, showing how beds needed to be regularly tightened and bugs were likely to bite you in your sleep. Bed bugs were common, lived in mattresses, and would bite the bed’s occupant. Some even believe that a passive aggressive way to get rid of unwanted guests was to let the ropes sink lower and lower, until the bed became so uncomfortable that the guests would leave. So one of the household chores, normally given to small children, was to use the bed wrench to tighten the ropes every day so they remained taut. If the ropes became too slack, the occupant would have a very uncomfortable night’s sleep. The idea is, in order to sleep well on a rope bed, the ropes must be tightened on a regular basis. The two main faulty interpretations of this phrase are stated above. Truth: This is a very common myth, but it is ultimately a myth, and it is one we are often asked about on our tour of the John Chad’s house. The phrase is a reminder to fasten your nightgown around you tightly, so the bedbugs will be unable to climb through them. ![]() The “bedbug” is the bed wrench, so “don’t let the bedbugs bite” means to be careful and don’t pinch your fingers on the wrench. ![]() Myth: “Sleep Tight, Don’t Let the Bedbugs Bite” found its origin in the early 1700s, and it is a reminder to tighten the ropes on the bed before sleeping. |
